Honouring Australian service globally

On Saturday 25 April, Australians came together across the country and the world to honour all those who have served Australia in times of war.

Overseas, Anzac Day commemorations took place in locations where Australians have fought and died in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

With 1,791 people gathered at Gallipoli in Türkiye, while 2,525 people attended a Dawn Service near Villers-Bretonneux, France. Services were also held at Hellfire Pass in Thailand, Sandakan in Malaysia and Isurava on the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.

On home soil, the Australian War Memorial held a national commemorative service which gathered thousands of people together to pay respect to the commitment, devotion and sacrifices of the more than 2 million Australians who have served in the Australian Defence Force.

DVA’s ‘Wall of Remembrance’ continues to offer a virtual space for Australians to share in the commemorative spirit from anywhere in the world. Tributes honour the service of loved ones and reflect on the sacrifices of all Australians who have served and continue to serve. Beyond Anzac Day, the Wall of Remembrance will remain a place for all Australians to reflect and remember. We invite you to learn more and make a submission that is personal to you.

On Anzac Day, we remember the commitment and sacrifices of all who served, those who are still serving, and the families who support them.

Lest we forget.
