Apply for a certificate of appreciation

On this page
We facilitate the Certificate of Appreciation program on behalf of the members of the House of Representatives (MPs). MPs issue certificates to veterans in their electorates as a national gesture of thanks for military service.
If you're a veteran or a veteran's family member, you may be able to apply for a Certificate of Appreciation.
Back to topAbout the certificate
The certificate is a way of expressing the nation’s gratitude to someone who served Australia either:
- overseas during the Second World War or in overseas wars, conflicts and peace operations since then
- on the home front in the Second World War.
Certificates do not confer any eligibility for entitlements under the:
- Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (Cth)
- Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 (Cth)
- Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (Cth)
Who can apply
You can apply for a certificate if you are:
