Subpoenas addressed to the Department

The Department can be issued with a subpoena, warrant, notice to give or produce, summons or court order to release your personal information.

A subpoena is an order from a court to either attend court or to produce evidence or documents we hold. This way of accessing information is generally limited to the judicial system. This includes lawyers, courts and/or law enforcement agencies.

Relevant officials can request information using the below methods.

Subpoenas served in person to the Department and/or Open Arms front counter staff will be receipted as Departmental correspondence and directed to the Information Access Unit.
