Upkeep Costs for Psychiatric Assistance Dogs

DVA will accept financial responsibility for reasonable upkeep and maintenance costs of a psychiatric assistance dog (PAD) supplied by DVA, or privately sourced PAD approved by DVA following assessment against eligibility criteria.

Claims for reimbursement must be submitted using the D9401 – Claim for assistance dog expenses form and be supported by paid itemised receipts.
