DVA Veteran Cards provide a way for veterans and families of veterans to access concessions, support and services from participating health providers.
From July 2026, DVA will begin re-issuing Veteran Cards as part of a scheduled card re-issue carried out every 6 years.
New look, same Veteran Card
While the re-issued card will look different, the cards will continue to function in the same way. Same entitlements, eligibility, and processes.
There are no changes to the way veterans and health providers use the card.
What providers need to know
New Veteran Cards will start being re-issued from July 2026. Due to the scale of the re-issue, some card holders may not receive their new card before their current card’s expiry date. All Veteran Cards remain valid, even if they read as expired. Please continue to accept expired Veteran Cards.
