Jason's reflection
We spoke different languages, wore different uniforms and served under our own flags. But at the heart of it, soldiering is soldiering.
We patrolled the valleys together, fought side by side, drank the same water and kept the radios working. And when the patrols stopped and a quiet moment presented itself, a groundsheet was laid out, a deck of cards shuffled, and a hand of 500 dealt.
In those moments, the differences between us seemed to matter a little less.
