Luke's reflection
RAAF Airfield Defence Guards, OP CATALYST - Iraq 2008.
For Beck, Cricky, Lyon and Myself (Pictured) this photo marked our first operational deployment, to a country that felt so unfamiliar to us as all Australians.
I still remember the feelings of this time - the excitement of the unknown, the restlessness of the uncertainty of war, and the camaraderie and bravery we had to forge together to serve our country in a foreign land.
For me, this is where true lifelong mateship was made.
Lest we forget.
