New Surf Coast/Geelong Veterans’ and Families’ Hub moves a step closer

Current and former serving Australian Defence Force members, including reservists, and their families across the Surf Coast and Geelong region will soon have a dedicated place to connect, access support and build community, with works now underway on the new Surf Coast and Geelong Veterans’ and Families’ Hub.

Funded through a $5 million Australian Government investment and delivered by RSL Victoria, the Hub will bring a range of services together locally, making it easier for veterans and families of veterans to find the support they need, closer to home.

Centred at the Geelong RSL and complemented by satellite locations across the Surf Coast and Bellarine region, the Hub will provide access to wellbeing, advocacy and support services tailored to the needs of the local veteran community.

The purpose-built Hub, to be located adjacent to the Geelong RSL, will offer a dedicated and welcoming space where veterans and families of veterans can connect with services, access practical support and strengthen community connections.

While construction is underway, veterans and families of veterans can continue to access existing wellbeing, advocacy and other support services through the Geelong RSL.  Additional supports are available through many local RSL Sub-branches, RSL Victoria’s Veteran Hubs and other RSL programs across the region.

The Surf Coast/Geelong Veterans’ and Families’ Hub is expected to open by mid-2027 – forming part of the Australian Government’s expanding network of Hubs across the country.  The Hubs network is designed to bring support closer to communities where veterans and families live.
