Don’t wait on the phone to book a ride home: use your Right of Return Card

Thousands of veterans rely on DVA’s Booked Car with Driver service each year to get to, and from medical appointments. In 2025 alone, almost 30,000 veterans used the service, completing more than 650,000 journeys.

And there’s a simple way to make your trip home quicker, without needing to call DVA again, with a Right of Return card. When you travel to your appointment using DVA arranged transport, your driver should give you a Right of Return card, which will have all the information you need to organise the journey back home.

So, instead of calling DVA to organise your trip home, you can call the transport provider directly using the number on the card.

Simply quote your DVA file number and pickup location, and a driver will be back to pick you up from the appointment.

If your driver doesn’t offer you a Right of Return card, be sure to ask for one before you leave the vehicle.
