Check which DVA-funded health services have been claimed for you

You can check many medical and allied health services claimed from DVA through your My Health Record and Medicare online account, which are available through myGov. Reviewing this information may help you identify a service you do not recognise or believe you did not receive.

The ABC Four Corners episode ‘Defenceless’, aired on Monday 5 October 2026, showed a veteran viewing DVA-funded health services. This information is not available in MyService, and veterans should instead use myGov.

Instructions on how to use and access My Health Record and link your Medicare information are available on the digitalhealth.gov.au website.

Types of DVA-funded services visible in My Health Record include:

  • GP and specialist consultations
  • referrals and letters between healthcare providers
  • diagnostic results (X-rays, blood tests etc.)
  • medications dispensed to you as listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) or Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (RPBS)
  • other documents uploaded by your healthcare provider including care and support plans
  • immunisation history.

Types of DVA-funded services visible in Medicare’s Claim History include:

  • GP and specialist consultations
  • allied health consultations.

Types of DVA-funded services not visible include:

  • community support services such as lawn mowing, cleaning and transport. For Veteran Home Care or Household Services claim history, you should contact your service provider
  • other services not billed through Medicare, such as medical report claims
  • some pathology and hospital services.

Please note that if your healthcare provider is not uploading content, such as referrals or care plans, these will not be visible.

The first time you sign into My Health Record, there may not be much information visible. Next time you see your GP, nurse or specialist, remember to ask them to upload a summary of your visit to My Health Record.

DVA is planning to make DVA-funded health services available in MyService in the future, so veterans can view transactions against their card, but this facility is not available yet.
