The impact of chronic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use on the health of veterans
Overview
The University of South Australia and Flinders University undertook research on the impact of chronic Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) use on the health of veterans. The organisations undertook a preliminary study to assess the association between chronic NSAID use (including dose and chemical class) in the veteran population and significant complications, including acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, and acute ischemic heart disease, as well as associated hospitalisation rates.
