Identification of key depressive symptoms and their comorbidity with physcial and psychological illness in Australian Gulf War Veterans - Summary Report
Overview
Monash University's Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine and Discipline of Psychiatry conducted a study of depression symptoms in Gulf War veterans. The project is part of a continuing body of work by the researchers examining the health of Australian veterans of the 1990-91 Gulf War using data from the DVA-funded Australian Gulf War Veterans' Health Study 2003. The study objectives were to develop a brief screening test for depression that could be used by veterans, their families, and medical practitioners, and to examine the association between the depression screen and physical illness, psychological illness (such as anxiety), and health‑related quality of life.
