Guiding Principles for Assessment of Innovative Treatment Programs
Guiding Principles for Assessment of Innovative Treatment Programs
In August 2025, the Repatriation Commission and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission endorsed a set of Guiding Principles for Assessment of Innovative Treatment Programs.
In the 2025-26 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook, Government provided funding for time-limited partnerships with providers delivering new and emerging evidence-based, or evidence-informed treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and/or depression. Funding was also provided for research into the effectiveness of PTSD and other mental health treatments for veterans through the Veteran and Family – Learning and innovation Network of Knowledge.
Funding for both initiatives commences on 1 July 2026.
Design of the innovative mental health treatment partnership program is currently underway. This will build on the Guiding Principles for Assessment of Innovative Treatment Programs.
