I served in Vietnam 1968-9. On 23 December 1968, I was tasked to go on a patrol. Chris Roost took my place on that patrol. He was killed on his first wedding anniversary. A friend Brian (Shorty) Young was killed in the Battle of Coral/Balmoral. Another friend Joe Ramsay, and a member of my battalion, vowed to even the score when we went to Vietnam, shortly after. Joe did even the score but was himself killed on our tour. Robert (Fred) Carver's body was retrieved 38 years after his aircraft crashed. He was a school friend. RIP guys
