We wish Team Australia the best at the 2023 Invictus Games

Now in their 6th year, the 2023 Invictus Game have begun. The inaugural Invictus Games were kicked off by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex in 2014.

The Invictus Games shine a spot light on service men and women and veterans from across the globe, there are more than 500 competitors from across 21 nations participating at the 2023 Games.

The Games are an opportunity for current and ex-military personal who’ve been wounded and/or injured or are ill in either body or soul rehabilitate, recover and connect through the healing power of sport.

Each year the Games have been held in a different country and this year they will be held for the first time in Germany, where they will be proudly hosted by the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and the City of Düsseldorf.

DVA supports the work of Invictus Australia and has provided $8.1 million in grant funding over three years to support wounded, injured or ill veterans on their recovery journey through participation in adaptive sports, including the Invictus Games, the Warrior Games and the expansion of Invictus Australia.

We would like to wish all of this year’s competitors - especially those who make up Team Australia, good luck. Check out this cool message of luck from Australians you might recognise, including the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Matt Keogh.
