Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025–2027

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is committed to meaningful reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025–2027 outlines how we will strengthen relationships, build respect, create opportunities and uphold strong governance to drive lasting, positive change for our workforce and the veterans, families and communities we serve.

This is DVA’s third RAP and builds on the momentum, learnings and progress of our previous plans. It reflects our responsibility as both an employer and a service provider and our role in contributing to reconciliation across the broader Australian community.

Developed in partnership with First Nations staff, the Galumbany Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group and key internal networks, this RAP is grounded in lived experience, collaboration and shared accountability. It sets a clear direction for how we will continue to grow cultural capability, foster respectful relationships, expand employment and business opportunities and strengthen leadership oversight.
