The National Health Services Directory (NHSD) is searched more than 1.5 million times per month via Healthdirect’s Service Finder. Ensuring your health services are accurately listed helps DVA clients and their referrers find the services they need.
Providers are encouraged to review their service listings regularly - including contact details, opening hours and the services offered.
How to register
- To register your health service with the NHSD, first check if it is an existing listing.
- If your service is not already listed, complete the NHSD online registration form.
- If your practice is registered on Healthdirect, review your existing listing on Service Finder and, if required, update your details by clicking on ‘Suggest an edit’ and submit a service update form.
Importantly, please highlight that you accept DVA clients
There is no DVA-specific indicator on the NHSD to confirm you accept Veteran Card holders. We are exploring enhancements to enable this in the future.
In the meantime, we encourage you to highlight that you accept Veteran Card holders by adding a comment to the Service Description field. We suggest the following wording: We welcome DVA clients. Veteran Cards are accepted as payment for eligible conditions.
