Consultation with Women Veterans

The Women Veterans Forum provides a platform for women veterans to raise issues directly with the Australian Government and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), and to create new channels of communication between DVA and the veteran community. The Forum is attended by women veterans and other representatives from the veteran community.

The inaugural Women Veterans Forum (the Forum) was held in 2016 and has been conducted each subsequent year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual engagements were implemented to maintain community connection and gather feedback.

The Forum is one way government and DVA are listening to women veterans and using their feedback to co-design future DVA policy and service delivery options.

Participants are selected annually via an Expression of Interest process.
