Seeking papers of Brigadier John O'Brien
I am a PhD student tracking down WWII-era officer journals integral to my work. I am looking for the Journals of Major General John William Alexander O'Brien. Historian Gordon Rimmer used O'Brien's journals to write a biography called In Time for War. Rimmer mentions at the end of this book that the O'Brien family was going to submit the journals to Victoria Barracks Paddington. O'Brien was married to Gwen Victoria Goddard Britton, and they had two children - John, born in 1934 and Jill, born in 1939. His son John was living in Canberra about 20 years ago. I have been unable to get a reply from Victoria Barracks, and I am seeking any information that may help in contacting O'Brien's relatives or locating these journals.Show contact details
