I am now 80 years old and was the original medic before leaving Australia and during Charlie Company's tour of Vietnam (see my book 'Medics At War' published 2026 by Amazon). My friend Wayne (Sam) Brown MM, who was the medic of Bravo Company, died a couple of yrs ago and after his death, I wondered how many people who served with C Coy are still alive? Would love to hear from you and have a chat. The OC of C Coy at the time was Major Brian Lindsay and the CSM was W/O Doug Burke.

We were on staff at Tully Jungle Training centre under Wary George and Chocha Prior in 1982.

I am in possession of a trunk belonging to 3176333 Cpl A R Cornelius from HQ 5 Coy RAASC VUNG TAU. If possible, I would like to return it to its owner or a relative.

George, of Rupert Street, Collingwood, Victoria, enlisted 24 July 1915 in Melbourne, service numbers 3060 and 3060B. At age 15, he embarked with the AIF WW1 23rd Infantry Battalion at Melbourne on the ship HMT Commonwealth. At Fromelles on 19 July 1916 with the 60th Infantry Battalion, he was killed by an artillery shell. His injuries were so severe, there was little hope of finding any remains despite very extensive searches including DNA and Red Cross files. Sadly, his families have no photograph of him. If any family of his fellow soldiers of that time have photographs with George, his descendants would be grateful to learn of that.
