World Homeless Day

This World Homeless Day, we want to reinforce the message that early assistance is critical to preventing housing instability and homelessness. DVA is investing in better understanding and addressing the unique risk factors for homelessness, including relationship breakdowns, unemployment and mental health issues.

DVA works with veterans and families experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness to help them access their entitlements, including a crisis payment, referral to local accommodation services, and information about other organisations that can assist them.

Veterans and families who are experiencing, or are at-risk of, homelessness are encouraged to reach out to DVA on 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372) or Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling on 1800 011 046.
