Nominations now open for the 2023 Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Awards
The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Matt Keogh recently announced that nominations are now open for the 2023 Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Awards.
At the recent Avalon 2023 Australian International Airshow, Minister Keogh had the opportunity to meet with several veteran-focused companies, including AeroPM, a previous winner of the Employer of the Year (medium) and Outstanding Veterans’ Employer of the Year in 2020, and learned more about the company and the veterans they employ.
Veteran employment is a key priority for the Government, with a $24 million investment announced in last year’s Budget to deliver a new Veteran Employment Program to better support veterans through their transition to civilian life, and champion veteran employment by raising awareness of the skills and experience veterans bring to the civilian workforce.
The program includes the Veterans’ Employment Commitment (VEC), which currently has more than 1,500 participating organisations, including AeroPM who are proud signatories to the VEC, showcasing a strong commitment towards providing veterans with better employment opportunities
Now in their sixth year, the Awards are an integral component of the Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Program, which brings together various resources and programs to assist veteran and ADF partner job seekers and employers.
The Awards recognise businesses of all sizes that are fostering workplaces for our former Defence Force personnel and ADF partners to thrive. They also commend individual and partner employees and entrepreneurs who have used their ADF-related experiences to succeed within the civilian workforce.
There are eight award categories open for public nomination that make up the Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Awards.
Nominations for the 2023 Awards are now open and close 11:59pm AEST 14 April 2023, with the winners expected to be announced in September 2023.
