Reserve Forces Day

For decades, our Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserves have served proudly alongside our full-time ADF members in times of war, conflict, peacekeeping operations, national disasters and emergencies.

Today is a day we recognise them – Reserve Forces Day.

Over the past 12 months, reservists have been involved in 18 operations both domestically and overseas.

About 2,500 reservists have deployed on recent domestic operations including Operation NSW Flood Assist and Operation COVID-19 Assist, where they supported quarantine compliance, logistics and the vaccination roll-out.

Many of us across the nation would have seen their efforts or heard about what they do, putting their lives and careers on hold to offer their support.

To all our Reserves, current and past, and to all their families and employers who support them, thank you.
