In the Summer edition of Vetaffairs, we published an article titled ‘Travel insurance: worth the cost.’

The article incorrectly claimed that Medicare does not cover medical costs overseas. In fact, Medicare has reciprocal arrangements in place with 11 countries. Arrangements vary from country to country, and we recommend you get full details of the arrangements before you travel.

Visit the Reciprocal Health Care Agreements (RHCA) page of the Services Australia website.

We apologise for this oversight. The online version of the article has been corrected.
