2019 Senate Inquiry into transition from the Australian Defence Force
26 June 2019
The Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade (JSCFADT) undertook an inquiry into transition from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) from 30 May 2018 to December 2018 and tabled its report in Parliament on 4 April 2019.
The report considers a range of options, focused on improving the transition process experienced by ADF members and their families.
There are concurrent reports which relate to the JSCFADT inquiry into transition from the ADF, namely, the Productivity Commission’s draft report regarding compensation and rehabilitation of veterans (released December 2018) and the Veterans Advocacy and Support Services Scoping Study report (released in March 2019).
The final report of the Productivity Commission report is expected to be delivered to the Government shortly.
The Government is examining the JSCFADT report but will also take it into account the recommendations in the final report of the Productivity Commission inquiry (once received) and the Veterans’ Advocacy and Support Services Scoping Study.
