Veterans’ Health Week

As Veterans’ Health Week comes to an end on 1 November, we remind the veteran community that events will continue to be hosted for the next couple of weeks in local communities across the country.

This year’s theme of Social Connection is one of the most important aspects of your mental health and wellbeing, and it is more important than ever this year to remain connected with your family, friends and local community.

We’d like to remind you to continue to practise social connection and embed simple activities into your weekly routine, which will help you to improve your overall mental health and wellbeing.

Local organisations and community groups have come up with some innovative ideas for hosting activities this year such as virtual fitness events, indoor skiing, trivia challenges and workshops in mental health, makeup, cooking and art, creating new opportunities for our veteran communities across Australia.

We’re encouraging the veteran community to continue to reach out to those who are feeling isolated, particularly while we all deal with the Coronavirus pandemic.

Events are listed on the Veterans’ Health Week page to help you easily find those in your local area.

For more information on attending a VHW event call 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372) or visit the web page above.
