Payment for Service Pensions brought forward to 21 September 2022

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared Thursday 22 September 2022 would be a one-off National Public Holiday. The public holiday will serve as a day of national mourning and observance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Under normal circumstances, 22 September 2022 would be pension payday. To ensure payments are not delayed, approval has been granted to advance the payday to Wednesday, 21 September 2022. This change means all veterans receiving Service Pensions will receive their usual payments prior to the public holiday.
