Government releases response to Royal Commission Interim Report
On 26 September, the Minister for Defence the Hon Richard Marles MP and the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel the Hon Matt Keogh MP released the Australian Government’s response to the Interim Report of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide delivered its Interim Report on 11 August, making 13 recommendations.
In an address to Parliament, Minister Keogh outlined that the Government had implemented one of the recommendations already, agreed to nine, agreed to one in principle, and noted two others.
The Government’s response is available on the DVA website.
DVA is committed to implementing the recommendations in line with the Government’s response and will continue supporting the work of the Royal Commission.
The Royal Commission’s final report is due to be handed down in June 2024.
