Get moving this Veterans’ Health Week

Veteran’s Health Week officially starts tomorrow, and this year it will be bigger and better than ever!

This year’s theme, Get Moving, encourages everyone to get involved in some of the many fantastic events that promote better outcomes for the mental and physical health of our veterans and their families.

Physical activity is an important contributor to an individual’s overall health and wellbeing, and getting active is a great opportunity to connect with your mates and others in the community.

There are over 720 events occurring, so there is plenty for everyone to enjoy!

You could take part in a game of lawn bowls, get brave and head out on the water for kayaking or stand up paddle boarding, enjoy a barbecue or picnic in the park, go for a group walk, or learn some new skills in an archery class.

People can attend as many events as they like and it’s free to participate, but please contact local organisers first to check dates, times and event capacity.

Get involved with these great events by visiting www.dva.gov.au/vhw.
