Two books to help you navigate the aged-care system.

As you get older, you might need a little more help with some activities of daily life. Navigating the aged-care system can be challenging for you and your family. DVA has developed two new books to help:
The veteran’s guide to living independently – Accessing DVAservices details the services available to help support you at home, and the eligibility requirements. Most services are provided quickly, usually within two weeks of an over-the-phone assessment at little to no cost.
If you are moving into an aged-care home, The veteran’s guide to moving into an aged-care home – Accessing DVA services provides guidance and information about DVA services available once you have moved in.
To download these books or order hardcopies, go to the aged-care resources page on the DVA website dva.gov.au/ac or call DVA on 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372).
