Changes to the way DVA sends correspondence
Recently the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) changed the way veterans receive some letters.
Since August 2022, DVA started sending letters via veterans’ myGov inbox. From this month, DVA clients who have a MyService account will have started receiving even more DVA letters in their myGov inbox, including letters advising of decisions and outcomes of claims.
The delivery of DVA letters through myGov is safe and secure. To ensure you do not miss any correspondence, you will also receive a notification via text message or email alerting to new items in your myGov inbox. Your myGov inbox can be accessed from any device, meaning it is accessible any time you have access to the internet.
If you have a MyService account and do not wish to receive letters through the myGov inbox, you can change your preferences in MyService to ensure you continue to receive hard copy letters in the mail. Simply look for the ‘Correspondence’ button on the MyService homepage.
DVA wants to make this transition as easy as possible and we are here to help. Contact us on 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372) or visit your closest Veteran Access Network office or Services Australia Centre for help.
