Apply now for community grants to support younger veterans

Applications are now open for the 2020-21 funding round of the Supporting Younger Veterans (SYV) Grants Program.

SYV grants support the development of well researched and tailored services for the younger veterans’ community, with a particular focus on services supporting those at risk of experiencing poor mental health. This may include social inclusion and connectedness activities for younger veterans and their families, mentoring or other support for veterans to assist with their transition to civilian life and employment, or online activities that address stigma and raise awareness of mental health issues faced by younger veterans.

SYV is open to Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs) and community organisations that work with ESOs to provide support and services to younger veterans.

Interested applicants can apply for a grant of up to $50,000 for local, community-based projects and activities. A small number of large grants of up to $150,000 will also be available for projects that deliver wellbeing support services and activities of broad scale benefit to the younger veteran community.

There are a number of important changes to the SYV program this year and organisations are strongly encouraged to closely review the Grant Opportunity Guidelines before submitting an application, to ensure their proposed project is eligible.

Applications close 5 February 2021.
