Construction for the new Darwin Veterans’ and Families’ Hub is underway

Construction has begun at the Darwin site of the new Veterans’ and Families’ Hub as part of a $5 million funding package from the Australian Government to help support the 10,000 veterans and families in the Northern Territory.

Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Matt Keogh today visited the site along with Emma Whitehead, General Manager of Mates4Mates, to see the space and discuss the services that will be delivered to Darwin veterans and families.

The Darwin Hub will deliver a variety of localised services including transition, employment and health support, as well as social connection and advocacy supports to veterans and families in the area.

Facilities available will include 10 clinical rooms where veterans and families can access services and support they need on site. The building will also feature a gym, a large outdoor area and barbeque facilities to support physical and social wellbeing.

Construction of the Darwin Veterans’ and Families’ Hub is expected to be completed early-2023.
