MHPE Recall Day

The Victorian Recall Day was held on 17 October 2018 at the Melbourne Office.

The Community Support team presented on a range of topics throughout the day. Topics included communicating online using the platforms available. The volunteers thoroughly enjoyed testing their knowledge of text message abbreviations and emojis.

The volunteers were presented with two nutritional topics, including the importance of mindful eating and an interactive virtual supermarket tour. Practical strategies were discussed to help reduce the risk of developing dietary related chronic diseases.

A ‘not-so-virtual supermarket tour’, was showcased to demonstrate how communicating via text messages could generate discussion about food choices.

All the volunteers presented on their involvement with their communities over the past few months.

Marty Tanzer shared his experiences on the excellent work carried out by Young Veterans Sale. The group engage with younger veterans by collaborating with local community group and Ex-Service Organisations to develop activities which focus on improving veteran’s health and wellbeing.
