There are a number of services available to help you to stay independent in your own home.

Veterans' Home Care (VHC)

Get help to stay safe and independent at home

Community nursing

Clinical nursing or personal care services may be provided to you in your home

Respite Care

Access respite support for carers through us or other agencies

Convalescent care

We may cover the cost of medically required recovery care following a stay in hospital

Household services

We may pay for these services if you are unable to perform them due to an accepted disability

Attendant care

An option to have a personal carer help you after surgery or for chronic health conditions

Aids, equipment and modifications through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP)

A range of items to improve your quality of life and help you remain independent

Assistance dogs

Find out about the type of assistance dogs available and if you’re eligible for one

Assistive Listening Devices

Learn about the devices that can help you to hear better in specific situations
