Southeast Queensland
In the 2021–22 Federal Budget the Australian Government announced $5 million in funding to expand the Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs network into Southeast Queensland.
This announcement was part of the Australian Government’s broader budget commitment of $40.7 million to establish a network of Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs across Australia.
On 30 October 2021 DVA called for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitable organisations to lead the Southeast Queensland network expansion. The EOI application period closed on Monday 29 November 2021.
During the EOI period DVA held online sessions with potential applicants and other interested parties about the Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs Program, the Southeast Queensland network expansion and the EOI process.
On 17 January 2023, the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs announced Lives Lived Well as the successful organisation to lead the establishment of a hub in Caboolture.

On 24 April 2022, the Australian Government committed a further $46.7 million to develop eight new Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs in locations with significant defence and veteran communities, and to continue the existing commitment for expansion into Southeast Queensland and Tasmania.
This commitment includes the establishment of a hub in Ipswich, Southeast Queensland. At this stage, no lead organisation has been identified for this hub. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs recently conducted an online consultation session for the Ipswich Hub and the grant application process is now underway.
