Productivity Commission inquiry into compensation and rehabilitation for veterans

In March 2018, the Minister for Veterans' Affairs and the then Treasurer jointly announced an inquiry to be undertaken by the Productivity Commission into compensation and rehabilitation for veterans.

The Productivity Commission released an Issues Paper on 3 May 2018 and called for submissions to the inquiry.

The Department of Veterans' Affairs provided its submission to the inquiry in July 2018, (see submission number 125).

On 14 December 2018, the Productivity Commission released its Draft Report and called for further submissions.

The Productivity Commission conducted public hearings in February and March 2019.

On 4 July 2019 the Government tabled the final report of the Commission

The Treasurer and the Minister for Veterans and Defence Personnel issued a joint media release.
