DVA On Base Advisory Service

The On Base Advisory Service (OBAS) is a national service provided by specially trained DVA staff who visit regularly androutinely over 35 bases around Australia. The On Base Advisors can help ADF serving members and those who have recently separatedfind out about DVA services, including compensation, health services, rehabilitation and support.

What can On Base Advisors do?

On Base Advisors can help you by providing information about the programs and support available from DVA and advice about how to lodge claims for DVA benefits and services.

Why contact the OBAS?

If you have been injured or have suffered an illness which you believe relates to your ADF service youshould lodge a claim with DVA as close to the event as possible. If liability is accepted, you may become eligible to receive benefits.

How do I access an On Base Advisor?

To make an appointment:

Email: GeneralEnquiries@dva.gov.au- Please include the name of the base where you are located, and the state/territory.

Phone: 133 254 for metropolitan callers or 1800 555 254 for regional callers.

Note: If you reside in North Queensland or Western Australia you can make an appointment by:

North Queensland - email OBAS.NthQld@dva.gov.au or contact DVA on the general enquiries phone number listed above.

Western Australian - all appointments are made through the Medical Centres on base.

What can I do if there is no On Base Advisor in my location or I am no longer on base?

If you have recently left the ADF and think you may qualify for support and assistance from DVA, or there is no On Base Advisor in your location please don't hesitate to contact DVA on 133 254 for metropolitan callers or 1800 555 254 for regional callers or email GeneralEnquiries@dva.gov.au for assistance.
