The Right Mix website

Access the AUDIT tool and patient resources from DVA's alcohol management website The Right Mix. It has information about what a standard drink is, counselling services and help lines. The Right Mix includes self-help guides to assess your drinking and identify what is low-risk drinking.

HEALTHInsite website

Through this site you will find a wide range of up-to-date and quality assessed information on important health topics such as diabetes, cancer, mental health and asthma.

MRI scanning

MRI is a sophisticated and expensive technology. In order for an MRI service to receive a Medicare rebate, the scan must be requested by a specialist medical practitioner or consultant physician, be conducted on a Medicare-eligible MRI unit by a Medicare-eligible provider, and be an MRI service listed in the MBS.

DVA makes payments in accordance with the Medicare Benefits Schedule; therefore, we cannot reimburse the cost of scans performed on non-eligible MRI machines. If you have been referred to an MRI centre which is not eligible for Medicare benefits, you may wish to ask your medical practitioner to refer you to an eligible centre.
