New supplier arrangements from 1 February 2011 for the supply of Home Medical Oxygen Therapy (HMOT) to DVA Eligible Persons
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) funds the provision of Home Medical Oxygen Therapy products through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP) to DVA eligible persons with a clinically assessed need. Provision of products is arranged by an appropriate health provider through DVA contracted suppliers.
What are the changes?
From 1 February 2011, following the outcome of an open tender process, Home Medical Oxygen Therapy and associated services will be supplied nationally to DVA eligible persons by one of two suppliers. This is in contrast to the previous contract where suppliers covered geographical areas.
Prescribers may choose one of the following DVA contracted suppliers listed below
Air Liquide Healthcare (ALH)
1300 360 202
(02) 9364 7476 for NSW & ACT
(02) 9364 7497 for Qld
(02) 9364 7477 for SA
(02) 9364 7482 for Vic & Tas
(08) 9312 9757 for WA & NT
1800 050 999
1800 624 149
Product catalogues are available from each of the suppliers.
Provision of HMOT is based on an assessed clinical need and prescribers are required to complete the Application for Home Medical Oxygen Therapy Form which can be found on the DVA web site.
What if an eligible person already has HMOT provided by DVA?
For those eligible persons who already have HMOT provided by DVA through previously contracted suppliers, there will be no change to the existing arrangements and no recipient of HMOT will have to change supplier.
