Clinical Pathways

Introduction

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs' clinical pathways were originally developed in 2000. During the review of the Guidelines for the Provision of Community Nursing Care the department identified an opportunity to revise the clinical pathways.

The original clinical pathways were considered innovative and revolutionary for their time for the planning and delivery of best practice standard of care.

This final revision of the DVA clinical pathway documentation suite has provided a set of clinical care documents reflecting community nursing professional growth and development.

The new suite of documentation has been developed in conjunction with the Collaborative Health Education & Research Centre of the Bendigo Health Group. Peak health professionals, including community nursing providers and clinical consultants, also participated as members of design and content teams convened by Bendigo Health Group, whose valued contribution is acknowledged and appreciated.
