Minimum Data Set (MDS) effective 1 March 2010
DVA requires DVA-contracted community nursing providers to submit data on all the community nursing services delivered to a veteran or war widow/widower in a 28 day claim period. The data is used by DVA to monitor the provision of community nursing services, to ensure that quality health outcomes are received and to inform research into program development.

Medicare Australia allows a variety of health care providers to claim for payment via online claiming, including payments made on behalf of DVA. If you claim online through Medicare Australia, the MDS is submitted along with your claim.
