Reconsideration of the Recommendations of the Clarke Review that have not been Acted Upon
The Government has made a commitment to further consider the recommendations of the Clarke Review that were not acted upon by the Howard Government. The Clarke Review examined perceived anomalies in access to veterans’ entitlements and the level of benefits and support for recipients of Veterans’ Affairs disability pensions. A full copy of the Report of the Review of Veterans’ Entitlements (Clarke Report) can be accessed here.
The Government is now undertaking the promised election commitment, and invites submissions from interested members of the public, for consideration.

The Government will outline a process for the next stage of the review subsequent to the closing date for submissions of 1 December 2008. This will be guided to a degree by the number of submissions received and the varied nature and complexity of the issues to be considered as a result of the initial public consultation process.
