Photos of Graves & Memorials

How to order a photograph

To arrange a photograph of a grave or memorial:

How long before the photograph is delivered?

Photograph delivery depends on the location of the grave or memorial.

Memorials (Gardens of rememberance or War cemeteries) situated within close proximity to capital cities where OAWG staff are located, can be photographed and fowarded promptly.

Photographs of graves or memorials overseas or in more remote locations may take up to six months for delivery, as they are taken on inspection visits by CWGC/OAWG officers.

If the site is overseas, the season can also affect the time of delivery - unless otherwise requested. The officer will tend to wait for spring rather than take a photo of a snow-covered grave.

I received your letter today containing the photographs of the grave of my late uncle who died as a POW, now buried in Ambon War Cemetery. I have forwarded them on to his daughter ... You have made an aged lady very happy she now has something to treasure in memory of her late father.
