21 December - Veteran imposter Rex Crane pleads guilty
Arthur Rex Crane today pleaded guilty to defrauding the Commonwealth of DVA entitlements by falsely claiming he was a prisoner of the Japanese during the Second World War.

- 10 December - War Graves Director retires
Minister for Veterans' Affairs Warren Snowdon today announced the retirement of Office of Australian War Graves Director Major General Paul Stevens AO (Retd). Major General Stevens will be replaced by Brigadier Chris Appleton CSC (Retd). Brigadier Appleton will take up the position from 13 December 2010 for a period of three years.

- 30 November – 2010 Anzac Day Schools' Awards winners announced
The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Warren Snowdon, today announced that a primary school in South Australia and a high school in Tasmania have taken out the top honours in the national 2010 Anzac Day Schools’ Awards.

The creative talents of more than 300 veterans across Victoria were recognised today with the presentation of prizes to the 71 winners and placegetters of the 2010 Story Writing and Art Competition at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.

- 20 November 2010 - Site for Korean War Memorial Dedicated in Queensland
The Department has contributed $25,000 towards building a Korean War Memorial in Queensland, further acknowledging the contribution of more than 17,000 Australians who served in the Korean War in the 1950s.

19 November 2010 - Australian Government supports completion of memorial for Australia's greatest naval tragedy
The Australian Government has announced funding to complete the HMAS Sydney II Memorial in Geraldton, Western Australia. The funds will be provided to go towards the construction of the final element of the Memorial—a pool of remembrance.

Encouraging veterans, war widows, widowers and their families to become involved in local health and wellbeing activities, 70 projects worth $677,648 in Australian Government funding were announced today.

- 5 November 2010 – Men Care Too! DVD Launch
The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs launched a DVD to focus on the invaluable work male carers make in the community.
Called Men Care Too! – the DVD depicts the personal journeys of five carers from the veteran community.

- 5 November 2010 Funding for projects honouring Australia’s veterans
241 projects across the country, which honour Australia’s servicemen and women, will benefit from $701,892 in Saluting Their Service funding.

- 3 November 2010 – Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels Day
The significant contribution of Papua New Guinean “Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels” during the Second World War was acknowledged in Kokoda at a medallion ceremony. The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Warren Snowdon was represented at the ceremony by Australian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, His Excellency Ian Kemish AM, who presented commemorative medallions to six recipients.

A service was held at the Australian National Korean War Memorial, Canberra to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korean War and Australia’s participation in operations in Korea as part of a United Nations force.
