Valuing our Veterans
Australia's war veterans have played an important role in developing the nation's sense of identity. With the passage of time, the memories of those who have actually lived through war are at risk of being lost forever. Written with the professional educator in mind, Valuing our Veterans seeks to satisfy the demands of State and Territory curricula across several key educational areas. Equally it is of benefit to community groups such as historical and genealogical societies who wish to draw on the vast range of experiences offered by Australia's war-time servicemen and women.

Support for Younger Veterans in Residential Care
PDF Version PDF Version 1.5MB
With support from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), a number of Ex-Service Organisations (ESO’s) in Victoria have formalised an agreement to work together to support younger veterans living in, or needing to be admitted to, residential care.

This initiative recognised that, although the numbers are not large, in certain situations some younger veterans (those of 65 years of age and under) with special needs, require a level of care that cannot be provided in the community.

The primary aims of the group of ESOs are to support the younger veteran and his/her family though the process of accessing care services, and to ensure that care providers understand the special care needs of younger veterans and their families.

The attached brochure provides further information about this program, including contact details and referral form.
