- Replacement or repair of war graves which have reached their life expectancy (approximately 75 years).
- Continuation of the rolling programme of upgrading war cemeteries in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
- Replacement or modification of buildings which no longer meet requirements.
- Replacement of essential equipment.
|
Why has the Government allocated this funding? |
-
The Government recognises the need to repair and replace aging war graves to respect our war dead in Australia and overseas.
- As the average age of our war graves increase, the number which require replacement also increases.
- Overseas memorials constructed during the past decade will require refurbishment to maintain current standards of excellence.
