Ian Campbell has been appointed Secretary of the department.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd announced the appointment at the RSL national Congress in Townsville in September 2008.
Mr Campbell is well known to DVA and the veteran community as he served as Deputy President of the Repatriation Commission from January 2000 to July 2005 before he took up his position at the Electoral Commission.
