HomeFront was developed by DVA to reduce the risk of falls and similar hazards by assisting in the provision of minor home modifications and appliances for all Gold and White Card holders who continue to live in their own homes. A free assessment is available once every 12 months.
DVA contributes to the cost of those modifications and appliances recommended by the HomeFront assessor. That person will usually be a qualified Occupational Therapist.
The assessor will also provide information concerning other Community and Government services that may be of assistance.
Gold and White Card holders are invited to call 1800 80 1945 to arrange an assessment.

Falls are not an inevitable part of ageing. Most falls can be prevented. A range of actions have been found to be effective in reducing falls and injuries from falls.
