Day Clubs in Your State or Territory – Western Australia

What is a Day Club?

A Day Club is a group of people who meet regularly in their local community for friendship, support and fun.

What is the Day Cub program?

The Day Club program is designed to assist veterans, war widows and other members of the community to stay independent through participation in activities and develop social connections.

Day Clubs offer their members an opportunity to:

  • Meet new friends;
  • Participate in games and activities;
  • Challenge their thinking with discussions and quizzes;
  • Relax in a social setting;
  • Get out and about;
  • And most of all, have FUN!

Who can join a Day Club?

Anyone can join a Day Club. Day Clubs provide special benefits to: carers, veterans, war widows, their families, friends and those people who are at risk of being isolated from social contacts.

Who manages a Day Club?

Day Clubs are managed and run by a team of volunteers who work together to ensure the club runs smoothly. These wonderful individuals are the backbone of the Club. Day Clubs always welcome new volunteers. Anyone of any age can volunteer if they like working with older people, enjoy team work and having a good time.

Why volunteer?

Day Clubs provide a supportive, friendly environment that enables volunteers to gain significant health and well being benefits. Volunteers will gain much from their contributions as well as enhancing the lives of their members.

If you are interested in volunteering at a Day Club, please contact DVA Day Club Support for more information.
